I've flown planes off and on for years. Got into helicopters about 5 years ago but found the nitro powered ones very expensive to repair after my many crashes. Not uncommon for an "average" crash to cost $150 in parts - I think my high-dollar crash was $600. Been toying with the idea of getting one of the smaller electrics and giving it a shot again.

I highly recommend one of the flight sims to learn to fly on (either helicopters or planes) before progressing to the real thing.

I fly a $30 harbour freight remote control plane. One of its wings is packing taped on, and I've crashed the sucker four times, lost the landing gear, and you know what? It still flys.

Its full size, probably has a 30 inch wingspan

I used to fly C/L when I was a kid but since then have had mainly R/C cars and still have many $$$$ worth in the back shed. Even a tank that fires plastic bullets.
I just bought my son a 4 motor electric cheapy Flying Fortress and am thinking bout getting something for myself . But I want something to build from scratch not a RTF or ARF

Love R/C planes! I'm trying to get back into it myself. Started breaking into the acrobatic flying before I moved for college and had to leave them behind with my parents. Have it all back just getting everything to run again, need to patch a few holes and I'll be good to go.
I used an instructor at the club I belonged to teach me, using the buddy box system, nice and safe way to learn.

I did it for a while. i had a trainer and it was fun. Crashed many times. Then I got into nitro trucks and eventually lost the interest in the hobby. I still have a revo sitting in my closet.
