Possible Change of Plan

Alright.. here's the deal. I've been wanting a Frontier for a while now. I have been exploring my options and have come to the conclusion that selling my Silverado and downsizing to a Frontier would not be the best idea. I know that probably 90% of the time a Frontier would do what I need, but its the other times that have me worried.

I did some figuring (yeah Finance major here) and realized that if I keep my truck and wait until next summer when I start working full-time, I could buy a second vehicle for the same payment as I would have if I sold my truck and got a new Frontier.

I'd still have my full-size 4x4 pickup which will do more than I will need for a long time and then have a daily driver that would be a little more efficient and a lot easier to drive.

I'm thinking that since I will already have a truck I want an SUV. I really like the Xterras, but I am afraid that since I am going into banking that it won't be quite upscale enough for hauling clients around. This may not be true.. I will need something that is truly 4WD because the company I am going to work for is in rural lending so it would see some off-road time on farms and properties, company duck hunts, etc.

I guess my question to ya'll is what you would consider SUV-wise other than an Xterra or Pathfinder.. Any input is appreciated!!

Murano, either that, our you could always go get a car. I like the Maxima, or if you got lots of dough, you gotta go for the Infiniti G35

pathy would be the choice there definitely... the 08's come with a v8 now which is nifty, but pricey. having said that, if you can start talking to a dealer around sept. next year i'm sure you could talk them down quite a bit as they start to get the '09s in... i understand your quandry... once in a blue moon i wish i had just a little more truck, but for almost every occasion i'd rather take my average of 21mpg

I forgot to mention I'd probably buy used. Probably a couple years old max. And it must be an SUV that's more than a car on steroids..

and sorry Richie.. this really is a bummer to me.. but hey who knows what will happen. I'll probably end up with an Xterra when its all said and done.. we can still be friends, right??
