Wow....My daughter is only three weeks old, but now I know what I'm going to do as she gets older and moves from infant seat to baby seat and on to toddler seat. 5 points all the way. I am happy with the seat we have now (Graco Snugride) and all the help and advice I've gotten from CF members (esp bigben), and intend to keep learning as much as I can about keep my little girl safe.
Thanks Sandi - good find.

I'm not a parent, but I'm posting this for the parents on my other board.

That is good information.

Unfortunately, I found the 2 minutes of pictures of teh dead kid a bit much.

So, they blame it on:
- incompetent driver
- seatbelt failing
- lack of information on seatbelt failings
- their assumption on child seats
- their assumption that they could have prevented this

I have to say that this is a normal stage of grief, but

LIFE IS A FVCKING CRAP SHOOT.
Kiss your *** (and everyone's you know) goodbye, because death comes for us all sooner or later.

I think that cars are to blame. Without cars, this would have never happened. And the kid might not have been conceived in the first place, if the place were the back seat of his parent's car!

I am a little confused by your post.....I thought it was a very good presentation. They captured a healthy young boy in alot of joyous poses. They want to inform people not to depend on seat belt alone, and to learn from their tragedy. Also, wanted to inform people that there is a car seat for the children that are over 40 lbs,(which may be the weight limit for most standard car seats) instead of using the booster seat, and that most vehicles made these days have the strap that attaches to the back of the seat...I think you were trying to make a funny at the end of your post....

There is nothing confusing. It doesnt take 50 pics of a dead kid to get a point accross. I appreciate curtness.
I also don't care if you think that was "a funny" or not, especially given your condescending tone.

You may now return to finding fitting emoticons and animated gifs with smiley faces!

Sandi,
Thanks for sharing. I don't have any kids, but I've passed it on to a few people I know that do.
I tend to consider myself a fatalist and a "hard" type of individual with a FTW attitude, but even I can see the value of the video and feel it was well worth the 3 minutes it took me to watch it. Maybe I'm not so hard after all, because I can sympathize with their loss and understand them wanting to get their message across in an emotionally charged manner. Whether their motivation to make the video was due to a stage of grieve or by immortalizing their son, I'm sure it was painful for them to make the video and at the end of the day they're right - it's worth it if someone else is saved from incurring the same loss as they.
The world is full of cars and they're not going away. It's also full of jerks, so we should be careful out there and watch out for one another, as you've attempted by this post.

I think the video was very well done. Not enough people know what type of childseat to buy. I have the seat they recommended b/c my sister recommended spending the extra money. I have an 11month old boy and will take all the help I can get to keep him safe. I certainly wouldn't consider insulting that video. The people lost their kid and want to prevent it happening to others.

One of the things that is really disappointing with Frontier is that you cannot get side airbags without buying the sunroof! It's totally irresponsible for Nissan to tie a basic safety option with a luxury feature like a sunroof. I'm a tall guy and the sunroof takes up too much headroom, so I didn't choose the option ... and thus put my child at risk.
