OH SH*T! That was close!

Any close calls?

I had mine a week after I bought it. I was used to driving a lowered Mustang. Forgot I was in a truck... took a curve going too fast... almost put her in the rail. OOOPS.

I'm guessing most of yours are off road'n, no?

Closest thing I came to was locking up the breaks on a dirt mountain road pulling (or being pushed by) a 3500 LB trailer. I could slow it down, but it wouldn't stop. Luckily the Frontier's ABS kept me in control until I hit a flat spot, she never lost steering.

The only close call I've had so far was when a kid on a bike came flying out of a side street right in front of me. He should be thanking my ABS for saving his life! This is my first truck, coming from mostly lowered Hondas set up for autocross, and while I haven't scared myself too much in a corner yet, I sometimes brake too late for them! It makes me wonder how long my tires will hold up when I kind of make a habit of throwing the thing into corners as if it's a Miata.

mine was a 300lb sow and her lil'en's. she jumped out of the ditch (trees close to side of the road, like a hall way paved through the thicket) with piglets in tow. i dodged her and picked up a limb that was as big around as tour calf. bumper, grill, windsheils, top of cab, and whole right side of the truck needed attention. more scratches than anything. oh well beats plowin' into the massive slab o' bacon and flippin my truck. all is well now though. she is like new.

Why I ended up buying a new car (well, truck)

...spun out the Mustang on the FWY at about 95mph (rain) . Spun 3 times before hitting the center divider. NICE.

My POS Saturn Vue lost it at a busy intersection, spun 3/4 around landing in incoming traffic, the b!tch stalled out too... Glad I dumped it for the Frontier.

Thankfully not in my truck. I was in my dad's one night cruising down a backroad and came to the bottom of a hill and as my lights leveled out oh what did I behold but a humongous black bull standing right in the middle of the road. After I nearly locked up I finally stopped within a foot of making hamburger out of him. Scared me to death and the bull just stared at me like "don't bother me."

too many to count, the scariest one was when a 18 wheeler cut me off either side swiping me or running me up onto a mediain, i was pissed i tryed to catch up to him and give him a few gestures but he was so far ahead of traffic.
