New Job

I just graduated from Chico State in May and as of yesterday I have officially been hired by the local Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy. I will be in the academy from the beginging of July to the end of January. After that it's about 5 months of field traning, and then I'll be solo. I'm so excited. I started the testing/hiring process in September of 07 and now all the work is paying off. It was a tough process with all the tests, interviews, medical exams, and psychological interviews but it has all been worth it. I can't wait to begin my career.

Salude!!

Local Sheriff's Office = Washington County?
Or City of Beaverton?

Good luck, not an easy job, but rewarding!

I heard from my friends that getting to this stage of getting accepted was the biggest PITA. Stupid mind games to test how much you really want it from what they say. Having to report at 5am, 6am for "training" only to have them sign in on a sheet and then told they could go home.
