Need Xp Help
Okay, The Daughter has forgotten her Logon to WinXP. it's the only account, so I can't go in and reset anything that way, and I do not want to reinstall everything.
I am searching the web for solutions, but if any of you can help I would GREATLY appreciate it. The sooner I can stop the whining, the better!!! Thanks in advance.

This will do it for you:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html You can make a boot disk on either floppy or CD. Boot to that and you can remove the password. Just make sure you read over the instructions pretty well so you don't corrupt Windows. |

most aren't set from the factory. though that won't allow you to recover the password, it will however, allow you to change it. but that can mess up some user settings.

Okay, thanks all.
She actually remebered it finally, so now I will set up a second admin account for myself for just such a contingency in the future. I had tried the C-A-Dx2 thing on my own but it came up as "Owner" - I didn't even think to try with no password...

just change the owner to administrator, and it should login.

Yeah, it was down to safe mode or the boot disk, when she remembered.
I just had to listen to it for 8 hours while I was doing stuff that NEEDED doing.

You can't get around a password in XP by using safe mode. You still have to log in.
