they won't get any proof one way or another, they tend to half *** things and not test different possibilities

Jeez... have a bad experience?

Mythbusters is great, I'm not sure if thats what they are testing or not. I know it is something to do with airplanes. There is no way an airplane is gonna take off from a treadmill though, there will be no air flow under the wings.

I love mythbusters, but sometimes they tend to give up when their original ideas fail.

Depends if you are looking relative to ground speed or air speed. there is a big thread on this already. I think its about 20 pages long.

When I run on treadmills, I dont remember any air blowing by me. Do people understand that a plane REQUIRES air to lift it off the ground? If somehow the plane rocketed forward and travelled enough distance to get the required air then yes, but it won't magically take off like a kite in a gale when the tread stops.

Hmm... I will have to tune in tonight. I agree with everyone, the plane will not achieve lift unless there is an artificial form of air speed such as a fan, which defeats the purpose of the test in the first place. Thanks for point out, this will be a good show as usual.
