This is my other ride

Some people on the forum wanted to know what a lifted subaru looks like, so here it is my other ride( sorry for the generally crappy pics)

This is a 82 subaru GL with an early Austrailian lift kit. its three inches all around plus 27'' bfg mudterrains. most guys on the ultimate subaru forum ran newer 4 or 6 inch lifts and 27'' to 30'' tires. but you start to break a lot of axles at that point...

Fully independent suspension all around. works pretty well though except with more than 6 inchs of lift then you start to break lots of axles even if you drop the diff. (which you can avoid doing up to 4 or 5 inches)

These things are really fun and can handle themselves offroad with the best of them but around my parts replacement parts are hard to find and they are hard to maintain enough power to drive at highways speeds in with bigger tires, unless of course you do a legacy motor swap but thats a whole different story....

Just like with the fronty there are several people who make suspension lifts for them. anything over 6 inches has to be custom made. also i saw one guy take one and put it on a solid axle toyota frame. it was 35 inches from the ground to the bottom of the unibody and 7feet 1 inch from the ground to the roof. the thing was a beast
they are super cheap to build too. mine only cost 1000 as is.

I have a truck. It gets me from A to B. Why I spend so much money changing it, I will never know. Is there a cure for this disease? I have no idea what I would be using all my money for if there was a cure.
