Musicians?

Anybody into playing musical instruments? I want to get my son a tenor saxophone for Christmas but have no clue on a fairly good brand...I saw some on e-bay (New with case) ranging from $200-2000.....I don't want to buy a top brand but would like to get a decent one.....Any one out in cyber space(clubfrontier) have any suggestions?

My musical ability is limited to playing the radio, but I do a fair job of that. If I do say so myself.

There was a guy back in high school that played the sax in the jaz band. Had I known what that instrument was capable of, I would have chosen it instead of the trumpet. Maybe I would have stuck with it. I lost interest in the trumpet real quick.

I actually wanted to play the drums, but mom said no, there would be too many drummers. We had 28 trumpets and 2 drummers.

haha we had the same problem in my high school band. i actually have played the flute since i was 6, i did all district, all state and governor's school and all that crap. i haven't played in a while now, but i still have mine. sandi, your best bet is probably to check pawn shops around, they get alot of instruments, and if not that, check the yellow pages (or something like it) for musical dealers, they tend to get alot of trade in stuff, especially around the holidays

A Selmer Mark 6 or Mark 7 will make him the envy of any sax player that knows much about good horns. Now expect to spend 3 grand plus for a used instrument, but definately worth it. You may want to look at this http://www.selmer.com/content/selmer...es/model64.php if you want a new one. Here is a link of a place that sells them rather cheap http://www.music123.com/Search/Defau...816+4294940583
