Grown men who play video games thread!

I would like to start bringing out the geeks in this forum and talk about what kind of games and systems you are into and play.

If a mod can sticky this, that would be great. I am only 22 years old but I've been playing games way before I could walk.

I remember in the good ol days when you would buy a game and it came with 16-22 floppy discks that you would have to insert every 5 minutes durring install.

Games such a Kings Quest, Prince of Persia, Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny, KYRANDIA! The list goes on.

I've always been a PC guy over console anyday. But at one time I owned a PS3, a Xbox 360, and a Wii. 360 of course owned the competition but it was nice to have a variety.
----------------------------------------------------------

Getting down to business:

Interested in know how many PC gamers there are out there and would like to get the spec's and possible picture of your system. I build my PC's and tend to go a little overboard. My last one was about $2300.00US

So, Post what games you play online, weather it be PC or 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, etc. I'm sure I've played it and willing to talk about it for days.

Cheers,
Adam

Games I currently Play:

Counter Strike: Source
Battlefield: 2142
Battlefield: 2
Microsoft Flight Simulator X
QUAKE 4
World Of Warcraft
etc etc

My system:

Windows XP PRO
Zalman FATALITY Aluminum Computer Case - 35lb's
Asus Crosshair Nforce Motherboard
Corsair DOMINATOR Ram - 2GB
EVGA 8800 GTS Video Card - 512mb <---AWESOME!
Western Digital "RAPTOR" 70GB 10,000RPM Hard Drive
Sound Blaster XFi X-Treme Audio

Pics:

This case is made out of solid aluminum. Pretty thick too. Ends up having a empty curb weight of 35lb's hah. But it sure does look purdy.

Nascar Online huh. Do the other players respect everyone else or is it a bunch of kids playing destruction derby?

Halo 3 very very very soon. Until then, Halo 1 & 2, COD2, and Excite Truck on the Wii. I love playing with my Wii.

Just to flaunt my dorkness a little further, I know the Halo publications backwards and forwards, and I just received my Halo 3 backpack on Thursday. Woot Woot Woot.

I have a Sny Viao laptop, and play World of Warcraft whenever I get a free hour or so, which isn't very often these days. Is there any way to 'upgrade' the performance of a laptop? Pretty sure I can't putin a graphics card.

memory.

that's why desktops rule. unlimited upgradability.

i used to game a little-these were the biggest for me:

Battlefield 2
Battlefield 1942
Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2

also rocked the 'Cube with the SW Rebel Assault series and Tales of Symphonia. pretty sweet RPG from back in the day.

on my dell dimension desktop. i can get specs tonite, but by today's standards its nothing spectacular. 3 years ago i was pretty proud of it tho. still runs great but it has been reassigned to papers and web browsing while i finished college and is back to that now that i'm in a master's program. lame.

Win. I'll have Halo 3 tomorrow BABEH.

I don't do PC gaming, only Xbox 360.

i still like to get my Diablo II Expansion fix every now and again on the West realm. But i can foresee MANY Halo3 parties this year with tons of beer. Just like we did in Highschool, just without the beer

But im trying to stay away from video games for as long as i can until i get all of my current projects done!!

wow, gaming before you could walk? you must have been slow. my kids started walking at 9 months old.

(my son has a P3-800/768mb RAM system w/17" LCD in his room...he's 5. we try to limit him to 'educational' games but he does like to play the hotwheels games online.)

hell, I've been gaming since the original atari came out.

anyway, I dont game that much anymore and most of what I do is on the PS2 these days. I did play a ton of Tiger Woods 2006 on the PC, NFS: Most Wanted but mostly, I own the geek factor over you...I MUD (as in text based online, been around for way longer than games like Ultima Online, Everquest, etc).

My current system is a crappy P4-2.8 running on an Asus P5P800 w/1gb RAM and an ATI AiW 9600XT (old and slow). I'll upgrade in a year or two maybe. Of course, I might just upgrade to a PS3 instead.

played a lot of diablo 2 as well. now I play Champions of Narroth on the PS2.

I kinda want Oblivion but since I try to sit in front of the TV (living room)rather than the computer (basement), I wont buy it.

(btw, the wife has a core2duo 2.33 (E6550) 2gb, XP and a crappy GeForce 8300GS which I guess is a bastardized version of the 8600GT.
