Florida vacation

So we have always gone on vacations in the Fla pan handle (Panama city, Fort Walton area)

This year we are taking the kids to Disney, at the end I want to spend a day or two at the beach I was thinking Daytona but not sure.

Any suggestions would be great we are driving from Orlando to Owensboro Ky so I would like it to kind of be somewhat on the way home.

Looked like Daytona fit the bill

I've been in FL all my life, been to quite a few beaches alone both coast. Coming from Dis.. Ask yourself!! Sugar Sand, Warmer Water, Gulf Side or Dirt/Sand, Some Waves, Ocean Side. Are you driving/flying?

Look at Coca Beach and NASA area maybe even see a rocket launch while soaking up the rays, my fav is bicentennial beach park. I think that would be more kid friendly, with better rates. Someone once told me the Atlantis Exhibit was a bucket list item. After seeing it I was blown-way. Over on the gulf side my pick is Turtle Beach Campground in Sarasota, cheap camping right next to the beach; that is if you packing a tent. Good luck maybe someone else will chime in.. I live in Tampa, and when I can get Dolphin resort in St Pete for about $100; I head over for the weekend maybe twice a yr.

St Augustine is another place to consider. Nice beaches that you can drive on and good sightseeing and historic places in the old town of St Augustine. Lots of things for the entire family to enjoy.

I'll second the St Augustine suggestion. It's my hometown and where I still live. Lots of touristy and historical things to do.
