First turbocharged Xterra!!!

well operation xturbo has begun.

i had a litttle dream about two months ago that my x had a turbo in it haha. since then ive been doing ALOT of research about turbos', wastegates, oil pumps, boost, and all that jass. ive also began to make blue prints for the piping and intercooler location.

ive contacted a professional tuner in az called xactdyno. they can install the larger injectors i will need( 700cc) which run about 70 bones a peice. and the uprev tunning i will need to complete the turbo. as of right now i do not have a completion date but im shooting for the end of july.

i will be buying a sts rear mounted stage 3 universal turbo kit. it runs about 2800 which is not that bad. the turbo will run about 5 psi which is pretty safe. i will do the install. i have a 4 post, 9000 pound jack and mig welder. along with other tools needed.

most of you might think i would do it but just you watch! it will happen.

this is what it will look like once completed

in 3 weeks i will be stoping by xact dyno to get upreved, thats the first step

Nicely done! I know I've been more and more interested about the STS turbo systems. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

very interesting, heat issues are usually the biggest problems with aftermarket turbo kits...hopefully your's is smooth sailing. Coming from a big turbo subaru, I can tell you that the boost is addicting!!!!

have you completely ruled out a standard turbo install versus a remote mount? ive heard the sts kits are decent, but can be laggy and inefficient.

well a remote system would better suit my conditions. i live in az and it gets really hot here in the summer and with the turbo rear mounted, it would keep the engine bay cooler then a standard turbo, that my opinoin. and its a easyer install

youre gonna need the Uprev base tune for forced induction on 1 map and normally aspirated on another switchable map. That way you can drive around normally asp. till the turbo's on and switch maps for forced induction with larger injectors and youll need a Walbro 255lph pump, you can do the pump and tune now. Only injectors and turbo the same time. And you can go to 7psi, I do
