this doesnt answer your question, but why is there another circular hole cut in the bottom of the box?

so then the wood is real thin there???? that kind of defeats the purpose of using 3/4 inch wood then, doesnt it?

thats what i was thinkin when i got it...I was like.....Hmmmmmmmmmmm ok?

anyone else with this box your imput would be greatly apreciated (not sayind anyone else wouldnt be though )

But yea i was wondeirng about that also.....Becasue at the bottom of my Sub...there is a hole at the bottom...and ive come to learn that this is there so the sub can breath...if there isnt enough spcae under that for air to travel the sub will heat up quick and/or just not work properly.

another questions as to why im not impressed at all with my system right now...once more the stock RF subs worked better (more bass) then this does....although i can now turn up my stereo another 8-10 levels (i.e. used to be not past 14, now i can crank to 22ish or so and still sound clean).

It dosnt start thumping untill 15 or so and im kinda ticked...talkin to some other peeps at the r6-forumz and they are suggesting another sub which i will try next but i dunno whats up.....

THought perhaps i got the wrong box...The one i saw on the site was longer and other peoples i have seen was longer also

I have the same box. I ahve a Rockford Fosgate Phase 2 10" DVC in in it and it sounds good. They cut the hole in the bottom and glue another piece of wood to the bottom over the hole so that at the point where the magnet goes down there is extra depth to allow for a larger variety of subs (not just shallow mount) There is another version of the box that is longer and goes all the way over to the drivers side that gives you more volume. The speaker that I have doesnt require that much volume though the air space of the smaller box is actually right in the middle of the spec for box volume. Can I ask what speaker and amp are you running?

Opps, Sorry I didn't see that last post.

The Fosgate sub you have is it single vcoice coil or dual?

The link you provided is to the Dual Voice Coil Sub. That is the one I have.

I'm using the Fosgate 300.1 Mono amp that puts 300 Watts at 2 ohms. I have my dual voice coils run in parallel to make a 2 ohm load.

I don't know that the DVC vs. the SVC would make that much difference. My definition of sounding good is that this single ten actually thumps harder that the two 12" fosgates I had in my last car. Being that it's a truck and the speaker is right there and not in the trunk helps a little. It's loud let me just put it that way. My wife can hear me a block away coming home from work at night.

Also, your head unit only has a 2 volt pre-amp output. My head unit has a 5 volt pre-amp output. Don't really know how much that helps though.
