I was in a hurry while swapping my brake pads and put one set on backwards. Theres still a little cooled molten metal on my rim!
Damn brakes! I was in a hurry and missed tightening a caliper bolt. Yesterday it came out and the caliper started smacking on the rim. I freaked out from the noise cause I thought my tire was about to fall off. Which I confess has happened to my truck. Of course there was a free spinning lug nut. As I was beating the caliper back into place, tightening a lug nut on the side of the road, re zip tying my shocks on and fighting my powerless steering rack.. It sank in that I should not be driving yet. No rear bumper, tail lights or license plates either..

Thanks for the laugh this morning.
Couple years ago, I forgot a 17mm box wrench on a nut for my steering rack. (on my car.) It wasnt until about a year later that I was doing some more work and found it right where I had left it. I was so pissed that entire year too cause I couldnt find that damn wrench. Even accused a friend of having it in his toolbox. I never told him I found it.

I've also had a SNAFU putting my brakes back together. But my story isn't nearly as good as yours or GIVE WAR's so I'll keep it to myself. Just glad to know I'm not the only one who has done it.
I left a gearwrench on the manifold bolt on my Vibe, couldn't find it around the garage for a few days and thought I had lost it somewhere.. Didn't realize where I left it till it flew off like a rocket (hitting everything possibly under the car making a godawful racket) at 2am going 80@8500.. Still have the empty space in my tool chest to remind me to check that all of my tools are accounted for before test driving

You can't confess that you're not going to confess anything.
>I hate washing my truck, but I love getting it dirty
>I listen to Demi Lovato
>I have all 7 CDs, including Princess Disney Mania (don't judge me)
I am secretly judging x-mods for this.
I feel bad for judging since I have clay aiken on my ipod.
I had an epic wheeling session this morning up to 11.6k ft in the snow

Hey, I already have my fair share of doozy confessions in this thread. But if you must know, I put those little metal clips on incorrectly. I didn't realize it right away. I went on a wheeling trip the next day, and the truck started making horrible noises almost 100 miles from civilization.
Hah, I got one for ya. Years ago I was washing the motor out of my folks F150, so I covered the alternator with a plastic bag. I kinda forgot about it when I first cranked it up. I think I spent an hour pulling out pieces of plastic...
