no offense to you guys that have civics, but the mustang looks and sounds much better than any civic plus the stang is RWD which makes fun for sliding sideways when needed to, i still like civics but too many teenage punk high schoolers gave them a bad rep around where i live with the 20 dollar ebay mufflers and i don't have much respect for them anymore.

Thanks for the post. Done all that many years ago and don't have to feel like I am the "old man" here! (Feel Good Post)

50's 60's and 70's, gas was cheap and who cared anyway? 3 "excessive demonstration of speed" citations in a week.... those where the days! Insurance costs sure took its toll!

I am an import guy. In my lifetime america has made bad cars (I am 21). I do respect old american muscle cars, i wouldnt want one though. I have had american and jap vehicals since ive been driving and here is what i can say... my camaro z28 was in the shop more than it was on the street, something was always going on it. It died on me at 90,000 miles... i took very good car of it. My chevy s10 4x4 got stuck all the time in the mud, and it died on me at 95,000 miles, my chevy blazer went at 130,000 miles... i never even took that thing offroad, or beat on it. My chevy cobalt that i was forced into bc my blazer died and i needed something cheep and wanted something brand new... dont even get me started on that deathtrap of a car! now for my imports... never had a problem NOT ONE problem with my honda civic, my acura integra, and my nissan has been very good. I have had a few small issues with it (but i put my truck through some very tough things). I also worked for a chevy dealership and seen all the problems even there brand new cars have. I have NO respect for GM, ford, or chrysler. The junk that they put out there today is a joke. Even the new corvettes... i wouldnt want one. I seen about 3 brand new corvettes at my dealership in 4 months that had problems. I think they are built half ***, i think they are the most ugly sports car out there, and they like most other american cars always have things going wrong with them. The problem with american automakers is they do things the cheapest way they can. A lot of "american" cars arent made in america... most toyotas, nissans, and hondas are. Its not just my experiences its a lot of people i know. One fore example...My moms celeberty back in the 80s died right before it hit 100k. A guy that lives on my street is from detroit and worked for ford most of his life. He said the fords that are still built in the US, are built like sh*t. He told me at the plant he worked at they had to put a barbwire fence up to keep there employees from sneeking out of work to go get high and drunk and come back to work. That still didnt work. He said its a common site to see people taking there breaks and smoking crack. Do you want a crackhead putting your car together? i sure dont. He said theres nothing that can really be done because if they gave drug test they would loose most of there workers, and 2 they cant fire them anyway... all they do is send them to rehab and they have there job back as soon as there done. I am glad i own a nissan... and the only cars i would ever buy are nissans, toyotas, and hondas.

Back to the import vs muscle thing.... i like the handling of imports, and the fact that you can take a small engine and build it to be fast. Muscle cars have no handling, and are always broke down. There is a difference between a tuner and a ricer... i hate ricer kids who get civics and put 2 ft. wings, and a pep boys muffler on them and think there vin deisel. They make all import tuners look bad! Just like the guys driving v6 mustangs and thinking they got a cobra make muscle cars look bad.

actually, the STi is rated to get 14 city/19 hwy (at least for the older agressive looking ones) but the EVOs get decent mileage.

I have a truck. It gets me from A to B. Why I spend so much money changing it, I will never know. Is there a cure for this disease? I have no idea what I would be using all my money for if there was a cure.

Domestic fan here. A buddy of mine drives a V-tech and I never let him live it down. When we go to the bar or whatever he'll get a beer and a I'll say, "So did you get some V-tech in it? You know it'll make that beer go way faster right?" lol he hates it.

I hate the way most of them sound. Its like a pissed off bumble bee farting in a tin can. With the exception of the EVO's, STi's, Supra's etc. My buddy always brings up the power to weight ratio and economy BS but then I mention who would get more ass? A loaded WS6 or a V-tech? He knows damn well hot chics love the sound of a V8 and the feel of torque, and then stays quiet.

Need both, but have to go Muscle today. Came around the corner and there sat an AC Cobra. Had to go around the block just for another look, oh and to see if the keys were in it

you can thank your local union for that....they ask for higher wages, and make it nearly impossible to fire employees which leads to shitty work and over paid slackers thus running a company into the ground...trust me i work for DoD as an airforce civilian and i see it everyday..im a non-union member of course.
