My opinion is NOTHING trumps an American muscle car.
I've had a few and they scream horsepower. I still own a 1970 Chevelle SS 454. I had a 1970 Buick Skylark Gran Sport Stage 1, a 1965 Mustang GT, a 1962 Corvette, a 1968 Pontiac GTO and a 1973 Camaro Z28. To me there isn't an import that compares.

Yup... and scary thing, during the design phase, the Probe was actually going to be an updated Mustang. Thought they should modernize the platform, look to the future with smaller engines and FWD.
Thank Gawd they didn't! ![]()

lol yep it was, I heard Ford needed a cheap piece of crap, and Mazda knew it was such a piece they wouldnt put their name on it so they sold it to Ford. I took both those cars the Mazda and the probe on test drives with my uncle for my niece and both of us felt the Mazda a better car, shifted better, didnt have much of a buzz from the engine,,, etc....

1970 chevelle ss 454 is my all time fav muscle car always has been, then i've always loved the nissan Z cars also, i always say nothing else sounds like a big block with a nice cam then again nothing sounds better than a 350z with a nice exhaust system.

Wow, the poll is pretty close! I'm old school, musclecars all the way, baby! When I was in high school, I had a '70 Mustang with a 351 Cleveland. Still the fastest car I've ever owned. The technology for tuners today is amazing, but my testosterone level goes way up when I hear a big V8 at full throttle! MORE POWER! ARR, ARR, ARR!

This poll is strange. The subject says "Asian Invasion" but the actual choice in the poll is "import." So which is it? All imports aren't Asian. Also, is money an object? Sports cars only? Muscle is pre-1980, or does it include modern cars like the ZR-1?
If money is no object and we're buying weekend fun machines, my choice is neither. I'd want something British.... ![]() Or Italian. ![]() If my choices are Japanese or American only, money is still not an object, they're not DD's and modern cars are included, I'd take the new ZR-1 over the GT-R anyday. The racing I do (or did) is usually from a roll, and doesn't include corners. There, the Godzilla would perish. If it was DD, I'd take the new CTS-V. That's all. |

Anything I need to be reliable would be an import.
Fot tons of power and fun it would be an old muscle car. |
