Always a first time for everything...

I'm 29 and have been driving since I was 15 and have never been in a wreck not even in someone else's vehicle. Well thanks to a drunk driver my family and I got nailed by a Toyota Tundra in an intersection last weekend. Yep... he ran right through it and never touched his brakes. Luckily, my truck helped to bring his truck to a hault.

My wife and 2 kids were inside as well. My 3 month old son was in the rear passenger side too and no one was even hurt.

I'm glad I haven't installed my lift kit, wheels / tires yet. Would have been wasted money. I was probably one of the first to own a 05 around here anyway. I bought it in Nov. of 04 and haven't done one thing to it mod-wise. Maybe this was the reason why...

It bent the upper control arm and steering knuckle. Made the wheel & tire lean inward. I'll have it fixed next week with some added goodies.

Yea we're all good, just shaken up. The speed limit on that road was 45 but I'm not exactly sure how fast he was going. I heard his truck coming a split second before he hit me from his tire noise getting closer. The passenger side window was even half-way rolled down and it didn't break. That's how I heard him.

His truck was smashed in the driver's side fender area all the way to the front of the truck. His was worst off than mine.

good engineering right there. Even my 1st gen gets great crash test ratings, I feel very safe in my truck.

Glad no one was hurt.

I hope they get it fixed to your satisfaction; his insurance company sure owes you (a truck is cheap compared to personal injuries). Good Luck.
