So what is the difference between the Cortex and the Flashpaq? Do they have the same maps? As far as I can tell the Cortex can stream data, do 0-60 runs, etc., is that the only difference?

Ok, I have a question for the guys running the 93 tune and loving the gains with the +3 timing advance option. Do you have a 2* timing advance on the stock tune? If so, you are running a total of +5*advance in timing with the superchips tune. Like I said, just curious.

I am very seriously considering this item, the Cortex Model 4950
I have found it on 4wheelonline for $342.95 + Free Ship, best price I have yet to find.
For me, I'm planning to go with jut WOT disable and 87, I don't want to feed the truck a higher octane gas, I mainly want the ability to have WOT restored.

No, the timing advance over rides any settings put in by the factory for at least the premium tune... +5* of timing would be very bad.
Wrong, at least in my case. I had the advance done at the dealer, when Superchips came out with the ability to change timing with the 91 Performance tune I was able to decrease my timing from +2 to 0. Maybe the 3* is on top of that, or it could be +3* from a baseline of 15*?

The timing advance to 3* is only available for the 93 perfomance tune. What your refering to on the 91 tune is the ability to drop 2 degrees of timing in case of pinging - there was no advance available on that tune.
As for it over writing, scott i believe made mention of this in one of his posts...
On the 91 tune I went from +2 degrees to 0 degrees to -2 degrees. I could not go back to +2 degrees but I could go back to 0 degrees. So yes the 2 degree advance done at the dealer stuck with the Superchips tune.

he said on another nissan forum that it wipes out the dealer adavance and returns + saves the stock Nissan settings when in "stock" mode on SC. Think about when they developed the programmer they surely designed it based on stock factory settings, not stock plus 2 degrees.
I have the dealer 2° advance and run the Perf tune but there is no way it is in addition to the Perf program. I could be wrong about all this, so by no means is this the final word.
