That is likely the point at which the variable intake flaps open up, causing some bog on the motor... probably could be tuned out to some degree...

I'd say even the SuperChips still shows the same thing. If you look close you can see the same "dip" at around 3700 RPM. This Dyno chart IS "smoothed." A lot of good dynos have the ability to "smooth" the curves so they aren't as jagged or pronounced. This one is WAYYYyyyy too smooth for a non-smoothed reading.

The dip is there. And it is almost certainly something mechanical in the way the engine operates. I'd be inclined to agree that it is like the variable intake kicking in.

It definitely shouldn't bog down in power though, with or without a tune, if you guys are feeling that there's something not right.

That's not really true that something is wrong. The "butt dyno" shows it as a "plateua" before what feels like a strong launch. In other words, the power is still there but a little "flat" for just a moment and then it takes off like a scalded cat...

As has been mentioned, it may be related to the variable intake changing up at that point.

^ Well then, lucky for me as I have an auto so I don't feel any "bogs."

I have an auto as well and I don't feel it as a "bog" but rather as a slight "plateau" and then WHAM!, the power comes on hard. That can still be the "dip" in the power band.

Your changing how the air flows through the intake... it's going to drop because different length runners change HP and torque curves...

I'll go a step further. Look carefully at the power curve. We're talking about a 200 RPM range here. I DARE you to get in your truck, stick the throttle HARD through that RPM zone and it will pass so fast you will almost not even notice except that the butt dyno will kick a little hard as it PASSES 3700 RPM.
