Yeah, 07+ has the better intake manifold...and maybe VVL on both intake and exhaust. I know a couple guys put the 07 intakes on their pre-07 trucks..

The 07+ motors are better out of the box mainly due to a taller intake manifold and they are FFV so the tuning is a little different.

The 04-06 guys have the advantage thou since they can run JWT cams and swap in the newer intake and in the end, produce more power.

Its all a trade thou. Do you want more power out of the box or do you want to be able to build it for more power down the line.

I just realized that this was in the "performance mods" section; maybe we should move it to the "detailing" section? I mean c'mon....it's been like 2 years and all I have seen is Andy clean a few parts?

Andy..I am obviously fuking with you; You are doing an awesome job and I really commend you on this endeavor. You definitely have more balls than I to do this; I'll be patiently waiting for my motor to blowup in the mean time. I was able to pick up a complete motor & trans for 1500$

Plus the 2007+ motors use a different way of measuring the O2 and catalytic converter efficiency which will set off your check engine light if you don't use all four cats. It's much easier to use the 2006 and older motors; you can always swap over the newer intake manifold for relatively cheap.
