yes the turbo is a bit small for our displacement. but that farther decreases turbo lag. by alot. and i have no plans on running more then 8 psi on my stock internals. and thing above that on our week pistons is just stupid. i am excited to get this proect done and over with. ha yeah it would of been alot easyer to buy the supercharger and install it in half the time. but no one has ever turbocharger and xterra. or frontier. (2nd gen). well have to see who sees more gains. what are you making right now to the wheels? hp/tq?

AND A INTERESTING READ NOW FOR SURE.....AND SINCE i CANT GET MINE RUNNING TILL AFTER DIVORICE WE WONT KNOW THE ADDED INCREASES AND WORK THAT ILL GET TO THE WHEELS POWER WISE. AND CAST PISTON IN OUR MOTORS ARE A BIG LIMITING FACTOR...ALTHOUGH NOW ANYONE CAN CALL CP RACING PISTONS, AND PAUTER BILLIT RODS AND ORDER UP A SET SINCE THEY DID MINE FOR FIRST ONE OFFS. BEARINGS OTHER THAN NISSAN ARE STILL LACKING THOUGH. AND WITH AN ELECTRONIC WASTE GATE, FORGE INTERNAL AND OTHER NECCESSITIES A TURBO CAN BE BOOSTED ON THE FLY ALONG WITH RACE GAS FOR SERIOUS BOOST. YOU CAN ALSO DO A LARGER MAGNUSSON BLOWER SINCE THE MP90 FROM STILLEN IS THEIRS TOO, LIKE THE MP112, MP1900 OR GOD THE MP 2300...BUT THEN DEAL WITH TRANS AND DIFF ISSUES

nice, but since cp and billit rods make you pistons and rods, i can call them up and have them make me the same ones as you have? cause i from what i understand, no one really makes off the shelf pistons and rods for us. is that correct? and how wold i go abot to getting new bearings to? special order??

YOU CAN CALL CP @ 949-567-9000 THE PISTONS WERE BUILT UNDER ENGINE LOGICS, JOB NUMBER 102143, THEY HAVE ALL SPECS AND MINE ARE 9:1 COMP. BUT SINCE THEY HAVE NOW DONE THEM THEY HAVE ALL THE INFO AND CAN BE ORDERED WITH MORE/LESS COMPRESSION, STK OR OVERSIZE

RODS ARE BILLET CHROMOLY FROM PAUTER @ 619-422-5384 PART NUMBER
NIS-220-570-1658F THESE CAN NOW BE ORDERED SINCE THEY TOO HAVE ALL SPECS....
NOW BEARINGS, SINCE NISSAN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE FITS BEARINGS TO CRANK AND RODS YOU HAVE TO CHECK CLEARANCES AND STAMPINGS ON BLOCK AND CRANK AND ORDER FROM NISSAN WHICH WAS MY ALTERNATIVE SINCE ACL RACING BEARING DO NOT MAKE A SET FOR THE VQ40DE. I WANTED TO ORDER THEM .025 SMALLER AND TAKE THE CRANK TO A GRINDER AND HAVE THE CRANK MADE TO FIT CORRECTLY A SET OF SAME SIZED BEARINGS WITH THE CORRECT OIL CLEARANCES(REQUIRES A GOOD CRANK GRINDER THAT KNOWS WHAT THEYRE DOING).

AND HERE'S ANOTHER PRODUCT I FOUND THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND FOR YOUR TURBO APP TO KEEPS EXHAUST VELOCITIES UP AND TEMPS DOWN WHERE NEEDED
Design Engineering, Inc. - Titanium Wrap with LR Technology

If I change superchargers it's going to be to a four-lobe Eaton or a similar sized twin screw. And that probably won't happen until I swap in a VK or something that makes sense to run a blower of that size. Maybe I'll just steal my buddies Kenne Bell 2.6L next time he goes out of town!!

Thanks for the piston and rod specs, by the way. It's always good having someone to pioneer those efforts, much props for laying out the cash up front so the rest of us could benefit!

I agree, it will be cool to see a turbo truck. As for hp/tq I don't want to speculate on what I'm making right now without a dyno sheet to prove it. My current setup is the Stillen kit combined with a Volant cold air intake and a custom dual 2.5" exhaust with removed secondary cats. It's probably a hair on the lean side to be honest but I'm running 94 octane with colder spark plugs, so I should be relatively detonation-free.

NO SEE ABOVE, AND I SHOULD BE IN THE 11-12PSI RANGE, BUT AS WE ALL KNOW THAT DEPENDS ON A FEW THINGS. SO UNTIL THE BOOST GAUGE SHOWS IT, ITS ONLY A SPECULATION. BUT THE SHOP THAT DID THE PULLEYS SAID IT SHOULD BE THERE. AND SANDTOY, I GOT A SMALLER BLOWER PULLEY AND LARGER IDLER TO BE ABLE TO USE THE SAME BELT
