Sorry for the caps. I wonder what caused this change?
Have you ordered yours yet? I have my doubts about the claims it makes.

But how fun is "Bone Stock"!! NONE! I'm trying my best to get horses and save gas. It was a total of 315 miles btw.
well hey see wut it does mostly city and mostly highway when u get the chance. My results most likely will be better because ill have around 6" of lift soon not 8 but still the same applies. Go for a couple of tanks and see wut ur mpg stands.

The best comparision for actual fuel economy is using the method of logging miles driven and gallons used at a fill. The longer you record these numbers before and after a mod the better. Lets see some data.......

Should this post be deemed too negative by the moderators, I apologize, I just wanted to set a few things straight, delete it if you must. But, could you maybe just delete the inflammatory parts?

oh and my best for city was 338.
You're right, I don't see the big deal. His 33X12.5 tyres are for ALL intents and purposes the same as a 305 70R16 THUS for ALL intents and purposes the SAME size as my bone stock 285 75R16 (I INCORRECTLY STATED MY TIRE SIZE IT IS ACTUALLY 265 75R16) tires (use the following links to find supporting evidence: metric to flotation and tire size calculator). 285 75R16 TIRES ARE BIGGER THAN 265 75R16 TIRES.

Sure, he has 8" of lift which would contribute to poor mpg, however, it seems per his numbers he is getting about the same as stock. Most likely due to the fact that he kept his foot out of the pedal while on the highway and drove a more constant steady speed.

Several here were simply trying to point out that the details of the story did less than add up.

As Mytl1 has pointed out, there have been tests done by more than just the government that show these type of products to be snake oil.

The cause for change would be the increased cost of gas, and the American way of "quick fix" will solve the problem. The reality is, the US has consumed less gas from Jan~Jul in '08 then it did in '07 AND the reserves are higher at this point then they were 1 year ago, so that whole idea that the supply vs.demand is what sets the price is right out the window. The US is still paying far less/gallon than most of the REST of the world is paying/gallon. Don't worry though, before long, little pills dropped in the gas tank will increase mileage the same way the little pills melt the fat off my body while I sleep. It's going to take serious COMMITMENT and EFFORT to reduce the US's dependency on foreign oil or oil period, just like it will take serious COMMITMENT and EFFORT for me to drop 25 pounds (yeah, I admitted I am 25 pounds overweight).

Before you get too high up on your pedistal. Maybe you should rethink what you think you know about a lifted truck and mpg in that lifted truck. Do you know that those bigger tires require a little more RPMs to turn them the speed as you stock tires and they more than likely weigh about 20+ pounds more than the stock ones? Therefore the mpg is goin to be worse on his truck because his truck is working harder than yours to do the same thing therefore burning more gas. And the fact that I have 32's (31.8") on my truck and a 2" lift on it, I get about 16.5-18.5 versus my 21.5-22 that I got stock. If he was REALLY worried about gas I'm sure he would go buy a hybrid. BUT, he's just trying to make his bag gas mileage a little better. Settle down kids, he's just informing us of what he's found out with his new toys, much like EVERYONE else on this forum does when they get something new, they wanna tell us about it.

You might take some of your own advice as well Bigger tires = fewer RPM's.

Sorry, but this is wrong. Larger tires actually change your final drive ratio, making you have "higher gearing". Despite the fact that there is more rotational inertia, a higher coefficient of drag (cD), and a higher center of mass, your RPMs will be lower. Now the flip side is, to counteract these negative effects, your throttle position will be heavier to maintain the same speed on the highway.

And BTW, I like my stock truck! But that does not mean I won't mod it, eventually.

ffips - just curious as to where you live that your Nismo came with 285/75R16 tires stock? Nismo's in the US come with 265/75R16 tires. 285's are, depending on the actual tire, 32.8x11.2 whereas the 265's are 31.6x10.4. Even if you have 285's, your tires are still about an inch and a half narrower than his, which makes a difference when figuring in resistance (that and the likelihood that his tires weigh a lot more than yours do, but this is speculation).

Many places outside of the US spell tires as tyres.

As for the potential for hurt feelings (those already incurred and those about to be), let's remember that this is a message board. Words do not truly convey the tone behind a post, so it is too easy to get offended by remarks posted by others. While we all share a love for our Frontiers (and contrary to popular opinion), the Internets are NOT serious business and people should not get so bent out of shape over some typed words on a message board. I get that a lifted truck is going to get lower mpg than a stock truck. My OP made a couple of statements that I still support:

1) OP story does not add up with the details given
2) OP most likely changed driving pattern after installing said product
3) said product is MOST likely not showing results claimed by OP at this time

As stated in my second post, to this point, products such as the Fitch Fuel Catalyst have been proven by testing to be less than what they are made out to be.

If the miracle product has been found, then let's all buy one while they are still affordable and "big oil" doesn't know about it.
