I still think these can/do work. The only thing I think is a bit different is the drop in ones for a small engine could sit in the gas tank and react with all the fuel, the ones attached for a truck/car are installed inline and seem to only come in contact with the fuel as it leaves the tank to be drawn to the engine for burning. I trust the articles I have read in Snowtech about their testing and their findings. They are the type of magazine to tell it like it is. If it works for them they say so. If it doesn't work they also say so. I guess until I actually try it I will not know either way if it does or doesn't work.

its like watching hours and hours of advertisements with commercial brakes. From time to time, there will be company names that are hidden from most people from being unnoticed or whatever.

i remember on Extreme 4x4 they had a whole bunch of calmini products they were using on this pathfinder project they had and seemed really thrilled about all the stuff they had. that was pretty much the last straw...

I have a truck. It gets me from A to B. Why I spend so much money changing it, I will never know. Is there a cure for this disease? I have no idea what I would be using all my money for if there was a cure.

not that I've ever dealt with calmini but the impression I got was that their stuff is decent but their customer service was lousy. The guys on the show wouldnt have had *those* problems since they probably got the stuff for free for the advertising they were doing.

I actually saw the guys on Horsepower TV test this fuel catalyst on one of their dyno engines. They did see a small improvement in HP and fuel consumption running the premium fuel, and when they put regular 87 in the tank, the numbers stayed the same as if it was running premium. Soooo, imho, if you have a car that runs premium, this would probably be a good buy for you. Since premium is about 20 cents more per gallon, in a 13 gallon tank like my wife's Jetta, this thing would pay for itself in 57 tanks. That's about 14 months worth of driving for her. Not bad. Not terribly great, but not bad either.

Any engine that needs premium will get about the same MPG with regular. It'll just have less power and a detonation problem...

I think we all know the arguements against this device. What I am trying to determine is from the one guy that has actually installed it. Is it still installed? Is it still improving gas milage? I'd love to hear from the OP about his current opinion of the $195 investment he made.

I would love to see some before and after gas mileage values. I'm surprised that after 3 months the origninal poster has not said anything about MPG.

Per the fitch claim that you can run regular in a premium car - if it has a knock sensor how would you ever know except for the slight loss of power? The engine essentially detunes itself automatically. Seems to me like a crafty claim that is equal to nothing. I'd need to see dyno results on both premium and regular with and without the device before anyone could convince me that it does anything.

Last I checked at 65 or 70mph, you are only going to get 98~105 miles in 1.h hours. Multiply that by 2 and I am still about 100 miles short of 310 miles.

I can easily drive 330 miles on one tank of gas in my '05 bone stock Nismo Crew cab. Congratulations, you spent money to improve your mileage to what I already get stock.
not sure if this has been said, i didnt read all the posts of this thread.....but...

65 or 70 mph you are going to get....well 65 or 70 miles traveled in an hour.

i'd like to see the formula where 65 mph takes you 98 miles in one hour....that'd be interesting
