Hydrogen Systems Installed?
Has anyone installed a Hydrogen assist system in their Nissan?
If so, what was the net effect?

I haven't and probably won't but there is a local mechanic who has installed 80 or so in the last 8 months and hasn't had one turned back in. He actually invented this thing that was on the local news. I caught this on the news last night and it involves water and a current from the battery and the current extracts the hydrogen out of the water and looks like it is sucked in through the intake. At least this guys did. The gentleman they interviewed has an 05 gt mustang and was getting 16-17 mpg and since this install is up to 20-21 mpg. That is after 3 months of driving.

I have actually been experimenting with HHO generators lately. The plan is to install one in my truck once I get a design I am happy with. It will happen sometime this summer.

The turbo diesel guys use em I know, usually with a 5 gallon bucket in the bed and just using power from their batteries to make the hydrogen. and then I think they just pipe into the intakes.

I have been reading an awful lot about HHO recently; I know someone who just ordered one for their Frontier, I am waiting on the results before I make any decisions. In theory it absolutely kicks ass; but I am skeptical only for the mere fact that it is too good to be true.

There is a guy selling the systems on e-bay, there called power tubes. There is alot of info on youtube if your interested. I think the power tube sells for 50 bucks. You should also use the electronics that go with it, but not included, to regulate the amps and voltage which are very important. HHO is getting alot of attention but i'm not sure I want to experiment on a new truck. Keep us posted on the results if you do.

Why don't they use ammonia which has more hydrogen. Its N-H-H-H. Seems like a better starting material. Or better yet, methane which is C-H-H-H.

methane/ammonia costs $$$ water is basicly free.
over all its a load of crap. i have no doubt that those who get increased milage get it via other means or simply they record fuel usage poorly. the simply problem is that its costs fuel to make the hydrogen and if you burn it 100% (which you will never get) it will only make the same power as it took to make it. then add in loses due to charging system and increase in vechile weight. overall result it will cost fuel dispite some advantage in helping existing fuel burn better. however if you made the hydrogen via another means then certainly that would make it more economical to run the vechile. only catch is if you made it at home your power bill will increase plus the problems of storage and filling. you could fit a couple of solar panels and run the system off that tho storage is still an issue.
