You quoted me from two years ago? Why?

I'm pleased you've gone 60K KM's without an issue.

My Nissan dealer had told me that installing a K&N air intake would increase performance, while giving me better gas mileage on my 2010 Frontier. How much of this true? Also the 4.0 V6 as is now is pretty powerfall, I'm just curious?

Well, better air flow will give you a little boost in power, and more air can mean better mpg, but usually only by 1 or 2 at the most. The problem with K7N's is that they are particularly oily (in my experience) so just make sure you clean your MAF frequently.

[QUOTE=rocco8716;1176229]Did you install this exact kit on your truck? Anyone running this ki I installed this kit on my 2011 4.0L about thr4ee weeks ago. It soundfs good, fits good, and performs well. I don't like the lag in the bottom end when going 50-60 mph. it seems like the motor is "chugging" along now.
On mid to top end it pulls harder and feels great. BUt, that is my butt dyno telling me this. It is worth the money though.

It's not worth it for what they want to charge me to install it. Appreciate the info.

It's not too bad to instal your self, if you don't like their prices

I agree with x_mods. Install is actually easy and I wouldn't pay anybody to do such a simple task that can be done by myself.

Having read through many of the intake mod conversions decided to order a 05-07 model Volant intake and do the work necessary to make it fit instead of getting the 08-12 model. Will however probably end up replacing the filter with an AEM dry flow the first time the filter needs cleaning instead of re-prepping the Volant.

Have a Weapon-R SRI installed on my other vehicle and it came with an oil based filter and over the years I found it annoying and replaced just the filter with a AEM dry flow as well and have been happy with that modification.

That's what I did, ended up buying an AEM dry filter for my Volant. The Volant box will need some drilling to get the bolt holes lined up. Also the supplied hardware (mounting bolts for the box) don't fit. At least those were some issues I ran into during install. Still have the box held up with one bolt, but I'm going to do some drilling down the road when I'm not feeling lazy.
