Autoanything.com has the Volant for around $287 shipped to your door, and you can probably find a coupon code that will drop the price a little more.

2006 Nissan Frontier Volant Cold Air Intake, Volant Intakes

but you can go to Performancecenter.com and input this price, and they will price match and go lower on the price.

Will Volant work on a 2008 Frontier? According to my research only AEM Brute Force Air Intake System will work. Is this correct?

Also, has anyone tried out any performance chip?

regards

I am looking at AEM as long as it's not "Too Loud". AEM says CARB EO number pending approval.

Otherwise, what about Volant? I like the closed box design better than Injen but can't find anything on Volant other than "50-state legal" and they seem to sidestep the CARB issue. Seems to be some fitment issues lately too though. Anyone know if they're seeking CARB exemption? This is important for Cali people.

Or maybe I should just get the CARB approved Stillen Hi-Flow and add an AEM Dryflow filter... Review here says 11 HP - http://www.stillen.com/product_files/403440~broch.pdf

Thumbs up 08 Frontier Air Intake

Has anyone got any suggestions on the air intake from Nissan? Sounds like if you want a good intake buy it from the people who designed your truck?

I have the NISMO CAI and love it. I'm sure there are others that can give you reasons why some of the aftermarket ones are better, but I've been happy with my decision. The one complaint that some will make is related to its "open box" nature and that when off-roading it is susceptible to dust and dirt. But I can tell you the filter is not as "open" as it appears. In fact when I returned from URE a couple of weekends ago and was washing the mud off of the truck I was surprised to see that even thought the inside of the engine compartment was covered in mud, the CAI Filter was completely clean.

Has anyone compared the Nismo intake and the Volant? I'm curious how their sound and low end torque compare. I just got a 08 SE 6sp a few weeks ago. Does ok, but seems a little laggy under 2k.

Can't voiche (sp?) for the Nismo, but the Volant has proven torque gains and I know I felt a good low end and throttle response increase.
