I forgot how painful / slow it is selling parts on Craigslist. Slowly but surely unloading unneeded things, Hopefully the skid plate money will be in hand in a few weeks.

Plastic gives you 30 days to get that craigslist money in the bank

Or, you don't rely on plastic so when your 87 year old duplex needs a new boiler and 1 hot water heater, you have the Funds not tied up and can choose the better units to be installed.

Side note, Truck budget still intact, boiler and both hot water heaters were installed during the George H.W. Bush administration, so, I knew it was coming.

...emergency funds are critical, I agree!

I do purchase as much as I can on my plastic and pay it off every month so I can take advantage of the cash back (since I'm buying the items anyway).

Not the rock sliders. but, still, parts...

And yes, already have the badges, I've had them on for months. Aside from this forum, Overland bound is my other favorite. I felt out priced on the Portal, so I quit frequenting there. Good group of folks.

Cool , I like the badges....
Yea it never seems to never end... parts , armor , tires , bla bla bla.
Right now I am researching Comm , CB radio , and HAM.
How is the in-cab Midland 1001LWX CB radio working for you?
Based on internet reviews I am likely going to buy the 1001LWX they have it at FleetFarm and I have a FleetFarm gift card I can use.
Where did you buy your CB antenna ? Truck Stop?
Then I am just going to order a handheld HAM radio (like the ones we used at the Midwest Overland Society Rendezvous) from ebay or amazon.
Edit....I think I am going to see you on Saturday at the MOS X-mas party. I will bend your ear then?

For sake of discussion here, For the price the Midland 1001LWX is a great unit. Having NOAA weather available in the truck at all times is great. The only one thing I wish it had was the ability to scan channels. But, that's really only for when I am driving and bored. So, not really a "need."

I got my antenna, mount and coax from Firestik. All ordered through Amazon.

For handheld Ham I have a Baofeng UV-5R. Inexpensive, simple, works well. The volume knob on it is not the best, but for the price, throw it away and buy another one. I think I got mine for under $30 shipped to my door.

A pair of Gently used Bilstein 5125's from out west (Thanks Jen!) to go in place of the 70K miles of MN winters OEM 4600's that are on the truck now as soon as it is not 5 degrees out.

Hopefully next payday will put me in position to order up the skid plates. Once those are ordered I will be budgeting for the Titan swap. I doubt The Titan swap will be complete for GONE, but, we shall see.
