Its funny you say that, because thats exactly what I ended up doing
As of now they are wired up and just zip tied to the rail. I'm hoping I can figure out a better mounting situation but this works for now.
I also did some other wiring today In addition to hooking up the led's I also put some more switches in my switch panel, and changed the way I can turn on my stereo. With the stereo, before I had a 3 position switch with another inline switch to turn the amps off for when I just wanted the shell speakers to be on (all switches were in the cab mind you). Now I just push the stereo switch on the panel and it does everything for me via 2 relays under the dash
Looks great! The LED's and the switches
If you don't figure anything else out, you could always go with hose clamps on the LEDs for more security at high speed
Hey man, if you are worried about them holding up in the elements, have you thought about putting some waterproof heat-shrink wrap on them?
I really digging the look of those, by the way!
I had thought about shrink wrap but every vendor I called told me that it would yellow within a year and then start to crack. It was also quite more expensive than I thought it would be. The lights themselves have a waterproof rating of IP60 I believe to they should be ok. And thanks! I like them as well

I like!! I like it a lot!! Dude you can blind people beside you that try and cut you off.
Thanks Carl. Haha nah. Unfortunately that's illegal.... All my lights are legal, I would rather not get any tickets as my insurance would murder me with myself only being 20

So another package was waiting for me when I got home from work today. This one also from China, but I had ordered it so long ago that I forgot I even had bought them lol. So I opened them not knowing what I might find They turned out to be LED dome lights that I ordered, O probably like 3 months ago.... haha You can't beat the price though, it was like $6 with shipping for 4 bulbs.
On a side note, HORRIBLE design on that front map light housing.... Maybe I'm just retarded but good god that took me like 30mins just to get to the bulbs!

I just found your build thread when I was looking for roof rack ideas. Sorry if you already posted this previously, but I was wondering where you had your rack made? I'm also in SD so was hoping it might be a local shop. Thanks for any info.

It was made at a local place. The fabricator's name is Mark and his shop is called Race Cars and Stuff located in Escondido. He's a great guy that's super nice, but make sure you get a deadline and price locked in before he starts.
Here's directions to the building he works at. Just stop by and chat and he can do what ever you want. He is VERY skilled
