Window tint

Hey guys I had a question about window tint i was going to get the front 2 side windows on my fronty tinted but the guy at the place i was going to get it done advised me to think about it because he said that if you ever hit your window or accidentally scratch the window then you will get scratch marks and streaks in the tint I have never heard of this problem and I never got any of my other vehicles windows tinted I was wondering if any of you guys heard of this before maybe i'm just uninformed

Tint will scratch if you run metal or something hard against it...but that's the true with all tints...the higher quality the more resistant it might be to fading, scratching, etc. I've never had a problem with tint unless I caused it myself...

I just make sure to wipe my tint down with the chamois every once in awhile...if you roll the window down a lot, then streaks may form, but if u try to wipe consistently, it'll stay off.

Just had mine done.

I had mine done 3 weeks ago. I have never had any problems whatsoever. Sounds like the guy you are talking too doesnt want your business. Of course it will scratch if you try hard enough. I mean does he put it on the outside or something. I would get a few estimates. I paid $125 for mine and it is awesome. I have had every truck of mine done. I got high performance solargard tint on mine and it looks great. 35% on front and the rest is 20% all the way around. It is darker in the back with about 15% in the back crew part now. It looks great and is still seeable at night. Shop around. Later.

Me too, looks great and keeps it cool inside.
Never a problem with scratching.
Sounds like the guy is lazy, go somewhere else!

Do you have the factory tint on the back windows? I would assume so. I think the truck would look funny with only the front windows tinted.

I just had mine tinted this morning. I tinted over the factory tint in the back since I like the back to be very dark. The front windows have to be legal though.

Same here, I tinted over the rear which equals about 10% and the front is 50%!
