What to do on a long weekend??? Try building a bumper!

So I had nothing to do this weekend because I had intended to do my Titan Swap. My brother in law (a mechanic) couldnt help because he damn near cut his hand off. So I borrowed some equipment and threw together a rear bumper.
Total cost of steel $56 including enough to build a second one. The most difficult part was drilling through the 1/2 steel plate. That took some doing!
It took me about 6 hours from design to paint.
What do you think???

looks good mang! Do you have some access to a mill or something? How'd you cut the semi-circles in the 1/2" steel plates?

I think I would have made the lower bar a little shorter to match the angle of the bed sides, but for $56, and some elbow grease, that looks pretty damn good.

looks good, Nizmut and I started the same thing.. I haven't touched a welder in over 8 years so we did a lot of "practice" but we did fix his shock hanger, I was thinking about something like that, but I think I'm going with one pipe, and cutting the bed for clearance.

Yes I am going to cut the two lower ends shorter... I didnt want them to wrap around the sides. I am going to angle the lower cuts.
The notches in the 1/2 plate were done with a hand grinder and finished with a dremel tool... OH YEAH, that was fun!
Thanks guys, I just bought the D-rings and will have some more pics later!
