I really like the KMA without the carrier. I dont think it would weight too much. and if you bob the bed *gulp* you could run like 2x2x.120 off of it to the rear fender well.

Still my favorite bumper, but how about a mix of ARB bed side protection and KMA center? I thought the KMA guy was pretty flexible about custom designs?

Maybe talk to frontier2k1? He makes custom bumpers and his price is pretty competitive.

I spoke with Calmini today and they currently do not have an availability date for the D40 rear bumpers. Hopefully itll be soon, I want to get one and have it powdercoated to match the Shrock stuff.

See how the side bar is more like a slider.

My rear bumper was partially copied from the Calmini... If you wanted the sides to wrap around and join, it would be pretty darn easy. Take a look at mine, and if you think the quality is alright, I can have my brother in law let me know what an exact copy of the Calmini would run.e

good luck on that date!

anyway imo not enough protection better off to custom wrap around more. and yes it looks nice and you probably have to support them but i would do yourself a favor and spend the few hundred extra for a better bumper with support from the bottom of the frame-for better recovery if thats your intentions. cause ill bet it only bolts to factory locations without extra drilling into frame for extra strength! definitely not enough mounting to frame for safe recovery/sake of tweeking frame!

what about the postrunner tube bumper from KMA? I'm considering this one, it has a slight wrap around but looks like no lights for the license plate. It does come with shackle mounts AND reciever tube for $325. best deal IMO.
