New Tires, Yay! Marred Rims, Boo!
UGH! Had my local Firestone put on some Destination AT's (LT265/70-17). Tires look great.
one last parting shot with the stock Grabbers: ![]() on the lift getting some new rubber: ![]() new tires! hooray! ![]() ![]() but after i washed the blue off the letters and grease off the rims i discovered this: ![]() ![]() ![]() on every rim. These guys apparently suck at mounting tires. It's deep enough to feel with my nail as I run it across the rim. Totally not happy right now.

I'm sure it just needs rebalanced. When I got my new wheels and tires I had to go back and have them rebalanced, my drivers side rear tire was like 5oz off, they wobbled like crazy above 60mph.

HOW DO YOU KNOW ITS not the rim, aftermarket rims sucks for true roundness, but so do tires. the only way to know is road force measurement on a Hunter 9700, run the rims bare, mark the low spot on the inside of the rim with touch up paint so you can see it later with the tire mounted, then run the tire wheel combo. is the tire within spec for roundness? The spec is 28, if its higher than measure the high spot of the tire and rotate it on the rim to match up the low spot and rerun road force. Ideally you want as low a number as possible. If your wondering why this matters,,,think of it this way I can balance a brick but how would that ride?
