Looks good but one suggestion: if you have access to a tube bender, I would bend the top corners to follow the lines of the outside lights. It would clean up the appearance, IMO.

Just pin on a brace. On both sides, just make a piece that you can pin in when you need to keep it up and braced. Then when you want it folded, just pull the braces, throw em behind the seat.
