I ran a couple of Rigid cubes in my bumper when I had it. The light was great. I had no complaints. Not too high, no splash on the windshield, and you could get them to throw light pretty far out. If you do stuff in tall grass or brush, it might be counter-productive, but that's pretty niche-y.
X2 on the Rigid cubes. I have Dually Flood cubes up front and Dually diffused flush mounts in the rear bumper. For my needs, they have great light output. The D2's and Dually HD have considerable amount more light output, but come with a bigger price..
You can tone them down a bit with the translucent colored covers. I use my amber ones quite a bit in the rain and are not too bright for oncoming traffic.
Pretty easy. Just drilled two more holes. The plastic feels a little more flimsy than the other two and they jiggle a little more on bumpy roads but other than that they work great
Mounting a huge light bar on top of the cab is stupid IMO. You have to look THROUGH the beams which light up every little piece of dust, rain, bugs etc. Fog lights need to be at factory fog light level. Driving lamps need to be at headlight level, so you look OVER the beams. Anyone that's turned on an over head light bar in the rain/fog/mist can see how ridiculous this is.
+1 on this. Had an Xoskel with day lighters on my Xterra. It was great for lighting a campground. Horrible for driving, wheeling, or anything else that requires me to see.
I have 2 Rigid Industries spot LED's in the front bumper opening... I like the look and and they help when off-road and in bad weather. Ill try posting some pics here soon.
I have a 30 inch mounted there and it is perfect. Mounting it on the roof is cool but when it rains or snows it is useless. it is the perfect height in my opinion.
I use to run 100 watt lights on my old Freightliner. Couldn't see anything when mounted in the bumper during snow storms. Moved them to the top of my mirrors, 6" above and 24" ahead of my eyes. No longer got the "warp drive" snow. Up high or down low, they both have their benefits. At night with rain, yellows down low are the way to go. Pure white LEDs do not reach out far enough for my liking in that type of weather.

Used to drive a Ford 600 bobtail, I replaced the bolt and nut on the mirror pivot and added some driving lights like you did. Saved my Azz one night when a whole herd of Black Angus cattle crossed the road.
I'm debating between either the LED light bar or two LED cubes. I would rather go with the light bar, as I think it looks a little better. Does having a front license plate interfere with the light output? If not what would be the best size to look for?
you can flip the plate bracket 180 degrees and trip a little bit off of it and it'll mount in the factory holes just fine and won't obstruct the bumper mouth at all. There's probably a write up on here some where.
