If you bought Mud Flaps from dealer

For those who bought the factory mud flaps/splash guards, with the rears did you get the clear strips to put on the fender to protect the paint? It listed them on the sheets as part of the kit, but I did not get them. My dealer has been apparently trying to get them for me and even ordered another set which also did not have them. I looked at new ones on the lot that came from the factory and they had the protective film on there, but the used ones did not look like it.

So for those who have bought them from the dealer, did your rear set include the protective film?

i took all 4 mudflaps off recently and did not see any kind of protective film. I gave it a wash afterwards and you cant tell they were there.

My truck has a small like 2.5x4 square of protective film in the rear before the wheel-well

Yes, I ordered rear mudflaps for my 08 Frontier and they came with the protective clear tape. and I ordered thru the dealer.

None came with my 06 mudflaps. The small plastic paint guard was already on the truck. It needs a much larger piece though.

I was thinking about buying some of this clear headlight film to replace the small factory piece on the rear wheel well.

Thanks for the replies. It seems like this must have been a recent change (within the last few months or so). I guess the 08's that come with the mudflaps have the protective film installed from the factory and they made the change to the parts as well. Guess I need to go in there and talk to the parts guy again with some more info for him. He thought it might be the opposite, that they quit putting them in there.

My 07 has the little pieces of plastic.

My 07 also has both of the clear strips on each side (facing the front on the rear fender and under the mud guard).

I just bought some as well, and they did not come with the strips. Did you ever get any?

Yeah, took me a couple of months of waiting on the dealer (and hounding them) to get them in special order, but I finally got them. And obviously it was no charge to me since it says on the instructions they are supposed to come with them.
