Front receiver or not?

I want to get a winch for my truck. im not too heavy in to off roading, but I do like it a lot! should I get a receiver and a mount and put my winch on that. also if I do go with the front reciver is there any way to make it less noticable(when I dont have the winch on it). or should I just get the Nissan Frontier Winch Bumper.

i'm not a fan of the front receiver winch mount because you loose so much approach angle with it up there. Now if you were to get a Shrockworks front bumper with built in receiver that would work, since it's much higher. I like the versatility of being able to winch from the front and the back. I can't afford either way, so i guess it doesn't matter!

well I have the front receiver hitch with a winch mounted on it and it has worked fine for me. I have used it to do a variety of things so it has come in quite handy. But you definitely loose aproach angle and it has taken a beating out in front of my truck, but it has served it's purpose and will be replaced with a shrockworks bumper as soon as it arrives.

Well it's the first thing to enter every mud puddle and hit every rock when offroad. It has survived and the winch continues to function, but it can carry 10 lbs of carolina clay i assure you of that.
