hey guys

thanks Mike for posting! My husband worked with a fabricator in Lake County here in Northern CA. He does some awesome, quality work but you do need to be patient! We're in love with our bumper and we'll do a front one at some point with the same fabricator. The only thing I'd do different is extend the side to protect the side body on both passenger and driver sides. I told Mike that we've already folded the body right where the bumper stops.

My husband came up with the design and then the fabricator made it happen. I think it was just all in my husband's head but I also seem to remember him collecting pics of bumpers from the 4x4 mags. It is a one of a kind/custom thing.

If you guys want I can get more details from my guy. It doesn't actually stick out far enough to protect the tailgate though. Oh, yeah, that pin striping...that brand new paint w/o any wear and tear never lasts long with us! She's pretty trail ridden already!

So several people have asked for more info on the rear bumper and now I finally have time to give more details...sorry for such a late reply guys-work takes me away from home for awhile so alot of things get put on hold.

So my husband says one of the biggest things is that there's slots on the left and right of the bumper that fit the hilift jack perfectly. He designed the bumper to fit the hilift exactly. The jack tongue I guess you'd say, rests on a hidden tube in the roll pan portion of the bumper.

The steel under the license plate is 3/16". And the steel where the bumper attaches to the frame is 1/4". All standard material from fab shop.

6 bolts are used to attach the bumper. The Nissan frame has 6 threaded nuts to mount to (2 of which have finer threads). The bumper hangs with these 2 bolts with finer threads. Hardware with grade 8.8 or above was used.

Another big deal my husband says, is that the fabricator was able to match the exact shape of the rear of the Nissan. There's that bulge back there that the fabricator matched so the bumper has a slight bend which really adds to the look. That part took him awhile!

Hope this helps!
