I had about 1200-1300 lbs of laminate flooring in the truck for about a 30 minute drive. Did just fine, it did squat like crazy though. 2008 4x4 SE KC auto. Braking did take a bit longer, but the biggest thing I noticed was how much it wanted to lean when cornering. Acceleration didn't feel too bad. I wouldn't go over 1200 lbs just to be on the safe side.
