LOL, at first I thought, hey that might even work ... the balloon idea that is.
But no, I don't think so. I believe the sensors use pizeo-crystal technology to generate a small electrical current that runs the sensor.
The sensor is a dumb device that only triggers a threshold alert, if pressure drops below a certain level, alert the computer.
The computer then lights up the dashboard idiot light.
After airing up the tires you have to drive for a while. This will energize the sensors which will eventually realize that pressures are good.
Now the sensors will not be sending a low pressure alert message to the computer, so the light should go out.
As to the TPMS sensor nut, it's a special aluminum nut that has a part number and costs $2.50 each. I just bought 4 for my new rims.
I wonder if I should use anti-seize when I install the sensors onto the rims?
