1 thing to double check when buying a 2.5 is to make sure it has anti-lock brakes. He and I both figured that anti-locks were standard these days. He found this winter that his altima doesn't have them when he slid through a stop sign with the brakes locked up. We both looked at the window sticker and sure enought no anti-lock brakes listed.
no offense, ABS is overrated. its great for the general masses but if you know how to drive, not having abs will allow you to both stop faster and still steer (ABS helps you keep steering but it takes far longer to stop with ABS than without...unless you just mash the pedal to the flooranyway but who with a clue does that...unless you think you have ABS but dont anyway).

the altima 2.5 I had as a rental had a decent interior but the engine sounded like it had marbles in it until it was warmed up and overall was pretty unimpressive. if you're getting an altima, go with the 6.
