this is the thing that i don't understand about this situation and why threads keep coming up about it -

a) we don't think it was a bad batch of gaskets, while it may have happened - i don't think thats the case considering when i order gaskets they come from all over the country. i will order 50 sets at a time, and yet we will get 10 from cali, 10 from new york, 13 from lousiana, etc - this makes me speculate that it's the not the concern of bad gaskets

b) i spoke with the manufactures us base yesterday regarding this issue, and they informed me that the gaskets are designed for certain lateral pressures and if under excessive pressures they will sheer apart. this may be a result of over tq'ing on top of them, since the tq is only 8lbs required...

c) can we please move this thread or close it as it's really just pointless to keep an on going thread with people speculating about it. it doesn't do anyone any good when people are just signing on, shooting off their mouths, and then having a whole bunch of other people just mimicing what that person said because it sounded like the right thing...seems like i'm really the only one here doing any legwork to find out why they failed, and others are just shooting from the hip online influencing other people that really don't know either way....

d) toyniss, do you have the component? did you buy it from me?
