Angry The WRP IMS Gasket Thread

It has come to our attention that some people may have experienced some slight issues with the gaskets that come both with the IMS and TBS.

This is an example of what we are talking about below:

This is not a result of heat transfer, but a result of two compounded problems.

a) we did not chamfer the edges on the slots that hold the gaskets in place. This sharp edge in conjunction with the vibration of the engine causes the sealed gasket to sheer.

b) over torque on the bolts to hold the component in place can also cause this to accelerate the wear on the gaskets.

Our solution to this issue at hand is two fold.

a) we are going to re-design our future IMS's and TBS's to have the chamfered edge so that the pieces will not cut into the gaskets as that is what is happening here.

B) for those who currently have IMS's or TBS and have experienced this problem: since replacing the gaskets will not resolve the problem of the wear against the gaskets, users will need to use Permatex RTV High Temperature Silicone. I am willing to send out to each user who can provide pictures of their components to me personally a tube of the silicone free of charge if necessary.

Understand, this is not an issue that everyone is experiencing so only if completely necessary will some need the silicone.
