The smaller the gear ratio (so lower numerically) the smaller your ring gear, which is why titans blow so many rear diffs. If it had 4.55's it would start snapping other things instead of grenading the gears

that is exactly what I was thinking...and iirc the manual tranny has a lower first gear than the auto (tried to check but apparently they decided to chang nissannews and I cant find the specs anymore.)

Also, some 285/75/16's will rub (with stock wheels) with a 2" lift, some will not. (Please stop asking this 6x a week and in every tire thread.)
