impressed by my nismo
Tuesday night I drove almost 200 miles through a freezing rain / snow storm, with out a problem the roads had any where between a thin coating to 3 inches of slush on them. I switched the 4 wheel drive on and kept the speed between 40 and 50 miles an hour and averaged over 17 miles to the gallon. I was passing snow plows who were going along at 35 miles an hour. I didn't have the guts or lack of sense to try and keep up with the semis who thought they could do between 60 and 70 but I did pass two of them that had spun out further down the road after they had passed me. At one point my wipers stopped working so I pulled off the road and check the fuses they were all good. What I did find was there was so much ice on the hood and windshield where the wipers go down to that they could not complete theit downward swing and just stopped. I fixed them by removing all the ice from under them and between the hood and the windshield. When I got out the truck a large sheet of ice broke off the side of the truck . The whole front end of the truck was covered by a 3/4" sheet of protective ice. It was nice to drive such a stable truck on those types of roads. Tonight and tomorrow we are in blizzard watch, I am looking forward to playing in the snow in the morning. They are prediciting up to 20 inches over the weekend.
Best of advice I can give is slow down use the 4wheel drive and plan your moves and the moves of those around you.
Thanks and have fun
