I do have a polarizing filter, but did not have it on for this shot. Just my bare naked 18-200mm VR Nikkor. After mentioning that, I think it might help cut down on the glare off the moon itself, might give it a try next time.
I adjusted the White Balance to warm it up a touch, and because I shot in Raw instead of jpeg, I was able to recover some detail out of the moon. When I took the shot, the moon was mostly washed out with very little detail. When shooting Raw, you are able to recover some of this detail.
