I think the Frontier does just fine in the snow, and I bet those nice tires you have help a lot too.
I still have the BFG Long Trails, which are by no means an aggresive tread. We haven't got much snow here lately, but it's been no warmer than minus 10 for over a month now. Right now our roads are slicker than snot on a chicken's lip. Im in 4wd all the time right now, in 2wd I just don't have any traction, and I have better things to do than sit there spinning my tires at an intersection. Or you are just driving along and all of a sudden you hit a patch of ice and before you can think, your going sideways...not fun.

We have a saying up here...snow means slow
With snow/ice covered roads 6 months+ of the year, you can't drive around like an idiot or you will pay the price.
