Maybe this is just because I live in Florida where it rains every other day, but after I've been offroading in the mud for a while, the best way for me to get the undermud off is to drive really fast through a deep puddle in the road. There are a lot of those back where I roll. After that, then all i ever have to do is go under with a chamois and whipe off the little bit that remains. I usually will have little to no mud left underneath after that. It takes only about 20 minutes to get the rest of the crap off after the splashing.
The oscilating sprinkler idea sounds like it would work, but because of the height the truck is and the speed at which the sprinkler sways, it sounds like it would take FOREVER! If you're looking for a quick fix, try my philosophy......
Be warned though. DO NOT ATTEMPT WITH BARE TIRES! Unless you have at least fairly good tread, you WILL hydroplane. Be careful.
Florida, even in a drought, still gets rain at least two to three times a week for full days...but don't waste the water with the sprinkler if you dont have to...
