So what made you decide to take the Volant off though? I know there was no diff., but you still spent the $ for it, might as well put it on.

Since this is for the first gen just do the air box mod and remove the fender resonator and call it good. I have a Volant sitting in the closet not being used. I could tell no difference between the Volant and the stock air intake mod.
